Former Kansas University golfer Chris Thompson of Lawrence shot a 1-under par 70 Saturday in the third round of the Midwest Classic to tumble from tied for fourth to tied for 25th. Thompson is scheduled to tee off at 10:56 a.m. in today’s final round.
After not carding worse than a par on any hole in the first two rounds of the tournament, Thompson scored a bogey on the par-4 No. 1 hole, went back to even par with a birdie on No. 4, a par-5, had a bogey on No. 8 and birdied two holes on the back side.
