Shenzhen, China ? Kansas University thrower Mason Finley advanced to the finals of the discus throw Friday morning at the World University Games.
The junior will have the opportunity to pick up his second medal of the meet, after his third-place finish in the shot put Tuesday.
In Friday’s qualification flight of the discus, Finley launched a throw of 58.31 meters (191 feet, 4 inches) on his third and final attempt of the opening round.
Finley enters the finals with the eighth-best mark of the remaining 12 throwers.
