? Behind the play of sophomore Chris Gilbert, who tied for 14th place individually, the Kansas University men’s golf team placed ninth at the Big 12 Championships on Wednesday at Prairie Dunes.

On a difficult day on an unforgiving golf course, Kansas dropped two spots to place ninth. Oklahoma State, with the top two individual finishers, cruised to a 13-stroke victory over Texas A&M.

Kansas, which had carded rounds of 290, 303 and 293, shot a 317 on the final day. The Jayhawks were without Dan Waite because of an injury. KU’s other golfers were Doug Quinones (296), Alex Gutesha (301) and Nate Barbee (307).
