Kansas University senior guard Tyrel Reed was named a Big 12 Conference Winter Chick-fil-A Community of Champions honoree, it was announced by the league office Wednesday. The Big 12 Conference picked one recipient from each member school for the winter sports based on the categories of academics, community service and leadership and sportsmanship. To be eligible, student-athletes need at least a 3.0 GPA, to be involved with at least one community service program and to demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship.
