Gilbert paces KU golf to seventh place

Kansas University junior golfer Chris Gilbert shot a 71 and a 74 to put him in a tie for 14th place, and the Jayhawks sat in seventh place after two rounds of the Kansas Invitational on Monday at Alvamar.

KU shot a 291 team score in round one, but fell to a 303 in the second round.

Nebraska leads the tournament with a score of 578. Scott Willman of Nebraska leads all individuals with a 140 after two rounds.

The third and final round will start at 8:30 a.m. today. The event is free and open to the public.
