Tulsa stays quiet on report that AD is candidate for KU job

Tulsa University athletic director Bubba Cunningham on Saturday was asked by the Tulsa World to respond to a Lawrence Journal-World report that Cunningham is a candidate for Kansas University’s vacant athletic director post. Cunningham told the Tulsa paper he was deferring to TU spokesperson Don Tomkalski, who issued a statement. “Just as is the case with any coach, we do not comment on speculative conversation regarding any open positions at other institutions,” Tomkalski told the paper.

Basketball recruit Naadir Tharpe 'even more excited' about KU commitment after campus visit

Naadir Tharpe, who orally committed to Kansas University’s basketball team on Oct. 13, was in town Friday through Sunday on his official, yet somewhat anticlimactic, recruiting visit. The 6-foot senior point guard from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., left Lawrence the way he arrived — ecstatic about his status as a future Jayhawk.
