The Kansas women’s basketball team has been picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 in the preseason coaches poll released by the conference Thursday.
Baylor was the unanimous choice for the top spot with 11 first-place votes (Coaches could not vote for their own team). Texas A&M was second, followed by Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa State. Kansas State was picked ninth, while Missouri was 11th.
KU returns starters Carolyn Davis, Angel Goodrich and Aishah Sutherland from last year’s 17-16 team. Senior Krysten Boogaard and sophomore Monica Engelman also were part-time starters a year ago.
