KU volleyball edges Texas A&M

? Behind a career-best 32 digs from freshman Brianne Riley, Kansas University’s volleyball team recorded its first victory in College Station, as the Jayhawks defeated Texas A&M, 3-2, Wednesday.

Kansas won by scores of 25-14, 17-25, 25-20, 22-25 and 15-12.

Riley’s digs tied senior Melissa Manda’s mark earlier this season for the second-most digs by a Big 12 player this year as KU improved to 16-11 overall and 7-9 in the Big 12. Texas A&M dropped to 12-13 on the season, including 6-9 in the conference.

Allison Mayfield finished with nine kills and 10 digs. Manda also had 10 digs.

The Kansas offense was led by senior Karina Garlington with 18 kills and senior Jenna Kaiser with a season-high 17 kills.
