Kansas University’s rowing team handed out awards at its annual banquet Sunday.
Honored were nine departing seniors: Katie Beall, Brittany Belford, Brittany Francis, Abby Green, Kelly Miller, Lindsey Lawrence, Stacy Rachow, Erin Sargent and Kaitlin Squier. Beall, Green, Lawrence, Rachow and Sargent also received the senior academic award.
The team academic award went to Rachow, along with senior Megan Foster and junior Nicole Schneider for earning 4.0 grade-point averages.
Other awards: most improved oarswoman — junior Alison Able; most improved newcomer — freshman Kourtney Welch; outstanding newcomer — freshman Olivia Kinet; Essense of a Jayhawk award — junior Cassie Sparks; oarswoman of the year — Lawrence; coxwain award -junior Elise Langtry.
