Kansas soccer adds transfer from Ole Miss

By J-W Staff Reports     Jun 26, 2010

Kansas University soccer coach Mark Francis announced Friday that sophomore defender Brittany King will transfer to KU from Mississippi and will be eligible to play for the Jayhawks in the 2010 season.

“We recruited Brittany out of high school, so we know what she is capable of and we are very happy to add her to our roster,” Francis said. “Brittany will compete for playing time at the center back position. She brings great experience from her freshman year at Ole Miss.”

King, a sophomore defender from Edmond, Okla., started all 21 matches for the Rebels last season, scoring a goal and recording eight shots. She led the team in minutes played with 1,931 for the season, helping Ole Miss reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005.
