The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the women’s 2010 Division I All-Academic Track & Field team Wednesday, with six Kansas University athletes on the list.
A record total of 551 student-athletes representing 150 institutions made up the group.
Senior Lauren Bonds, junior Amanda Miller, sophomores Julia Cummings and Rebeka Stowe and freshmen Heather Bergmann and Allie Marquis were each named to the team.
The Big 12 Conference ranked second among the leagues with 64 total all-academic nods.
To qualify for the team, the athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Div. I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in her respective event.
