Kansas University football signee Jeremiah Edwards will not be a part of the Jayhawk football team after failing a physical, according to KU coach Turner Gill.
Edwards, a 6-foot-1, 308-pound defensive tackle from Garland, Texas, signed with KU last spring. He recorded 61 tackles as a prep senior and was ranked as a top-100 prospect in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
A source told the Journal-World that Edwards learned recently that tests concerning a previously diagnosed heart condition revealed that the ailment was worse than originally determined.
