Kansas University freshman Mason Finley was named the Co-Male Big 12 Athlete of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.
Finley, a native of Salida, Colo., recorded the best mark of his collegiate career in the discus last weekend at the Triton Invitational in San Diego. Finley threw a season-best 196-4 to finish fifth overall and second among collegiate athletes at the Triton Invitational.
