Paige Higgins, a former Kansas University track and field standout, was the top American female finisher in the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Higgins, 27, placed 13th in the women’s overall division at 2:36:00. There were 9,721 females from 79 different countries who ran in the Boston Marathon.
Higgins competed in track events at KU from 2001-2003. The Littleton, Colo. native currently resides in Flagstaff, Ariz.
