Albany, Ga. ? Meghan Gockel, a senior on the Kansas women’s golf team, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship with an extra-hole victory Wednesday. Gockel defeated 2004 USGA Senior Champion Carolyn Creekmore in 22 holes to advance to the round of eight.
