? Kansas University senior All-American Danielle McCray scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in the USA Women’s World University Games Team’s 81-66 victory over Australia on Thursday.

With the win, the U.S. advanced to the gold-medal game. The U.S. will meet the winner of unbeaten Russia (6-0) vs. the Czech Republic (4-2) in the gold-medal game at 3 p.m. Saturday at Belgrade Arena.

“This is what we have been working for all along,” said McCray, an Olathe native. “We have wanted our shot at winning the gold, and now it’s here. If we work hard and play our game, I think we have a great shot of coming home as the champions.”

McCray, a KU guard/forward, knocked down seven of 14 shots from the field and also made her lone free-throw attempt in 20 minutes.

Down 13-9, with 4:53 remaining in the first quarter, the U.S. launched a 25-0 run, and Australia (4-2) couldn’t come back.
