Aldrich did break nose versus Nebraska

Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self on Friday said sophomore center Cole Aldrich broke his nose in Wednesday’s game at Nebraska.

Aldrich had his nose set on Thursday and was fitted for a protective mask.

Self, however, said he didn’t know if Aldrich would have to wear the mask in Saturday’s game against Colorado.

“Cole’s fine,” Self said Friday. “He did break his nose in the game. We don’t know if he’ll have to wear it (a mask) or not.”

Self said the 6-foot-11 Aldrich would practice with the team on Friday afternoon in preparation for the Colorado game.

He took a shot to the face in the second half of Wednesday’s victory and had a cotton swab in his nose the rest of the game.
