Manhattan ? Dominique Sutton scored 16 points and Luis Colon had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead Kansas State over road-weary North Carolina Central, 95-49, on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (18-8) played without leading scorer Denis Clemente, who was suspended for one game by coach Frank Martin for an altercation in Saturday’s 85-74 loss to Kansas. Clemente, a junior transfer from Miami averaging 14.8 points per game, watched the game but did not suit up.
Jamar Briscoe led North Carolina Central (2-24) with 18 points. Bryan Alaya added 10 for the Eagles, who were playing their first game since Feb. 3 and fell to 0-17 on the road this season.
Kansas State opened the game on a 14-5 run and shot 62 percent from the field in the first period to lead, 46-24, at halftime.
North Carolina Central never threatened in the second half, hitting just one field goal in the final 7:38.
