KU’s Warinner was a finalist for assistant award

Kansas University offensive coordinator Ed Warinner was named a finalist for the American Football Coaches Association’s National Assistant Coach of the Year, the university announced.

Warinner, who recently completed his fifth season at KU, was on of three finalists for the award, along with Duke defensive coordinator Mike MacIntyre and eventual winner Tyrone Nix of Mississippi.
