KU women’s golf team in eighth place

? The Kansas women’s golf team sat in eighth place after 36 holes at the Lady Buckeye Invitational after the Jayhawks shot rounds of 309 and 314 Saturday at the Scarlet Course. Emily Powers led KU after day one and is tied for 12th place individually.

Powers, a junior from Quincy, Ill., shot rounds of 77 and 74 to finish the day with a 151. Rounding out the lineup for the Jayhawks were Sydney Wilson (74-81-155, t27), Meghna Bal (79-80-159, t48), Meghan Gockel (82-79-161, t55) and Grace Thiry (79-86-165, t69). Jennifer Clark, playing as an individual, shot a 81-80-161 for KU and is tied for 55th.
