Free State High sophomore Ashli Hill last week became the second member of the Firebirds’ program to commit to a Big 12 university.
Hill has orally committed to play college basketball at Oklahoma State, joining FSHS sophomore Chantay Caron, who previously committed orally to Kansas State.
For Hill, choosing the Cowgirls came down to a handful of factors.
“Their facilities are amazing, their coaching staff is amazing,” Hill said. “Just the whole school, I liked it a lot.”
Hill first drew interest from OSU last summer while playing in an AAU tournament in Oklahoma. She chose Oklahoma State over a handful of other interested Big 12 programs, and is thankful to have the decision behind her.
“It takes a lot of stress off my shoulders to know where I’m going to go to college,” she said. “I’m looking forward to spending the next two years at Free State getting better. And I’m ready to work hard.”
