Even 30-degree weather couldn’t stop Kansas University’s offense from heating up Saturday. KU’s softball team connected for nine hits to score nine runs against Indiana State for a 9-1, five-inning victory.

Senior Addy Lucero batted in five runs for KU on a pair of hits. Sophomore Ally Stanton, who also had two hits, junior Stevie Crisosto and freshman Brittany Hile added one hit and one RBI apiece.

Kansas resumes play in the Jayhawk Classic this afternoon. KU will face Pittsburgh at 12:30 p.m. and Indiana State again at 4 p.m.
