For all the success the Oklahoma football team has enjoyed over the past few years, the Sooners have struggled in one fairly important department: bowl victories.
Since 2003, the Sooners have put together a record of 54-13. During that same period, they also have gone 1-4 in bowl games – a statistic head coach Bob Stoops defended Wednesday.
“We’ve been in six Big 12 championships, and we’ve won five of them,” Stoops said. “We’re doing something right.”
