OU lineman’s request granted

? Oklahoma defensive end John Williams was granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA on Tuesday, allowing him a sixth season of eligibility with the Sooners. Williams started three games for Oklahoma last season before tearing the Achilles tendon on his left foot in the Sooners’ fourth game of the season at Tulsa.
