Kansas University football coach Mark Mangino released a statement Monday evening indicating he underwent medical testing for undisclosed reasons.
“I underwent some tests over the past couple of days at Lawrence Memorial Hospital,” Mangino said in the statement. “These are tests that I had put off until after the season. The tests have been completed, I’m fine and I’ll be back in the office and recruiting starting (today).”
Mangino, 51, has been coach of the Jayhawks since 2002. After Kansas finished 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl this season, Mangino won eight national coach-of-the-year awards, including the Associated Press honor.
