Kansas University senior wide receiver Marcus Henry was added Friday to the West squad for the East-West Shrine Game, to be played Jan. 19 in Houston’s Robertson Stadium.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wideout joins fellow KU seniors Brandon McAnderson and James McClinton on the West sideline. Players report to Houston today, visit the Shriners Hospitals on Sunday, then begin daily practices leading up to the game Monday.
Henry this fall became the third wideout in KU history to record a 1,000-yard season. The Lawton, Okla., native finished the year with 1,014 yards on 54 catches. He scored 10 touchdowns, including one in KU’s 24-21 Orange Bowl victory over Virginia Tech on Jan. 3. The senior ended his KU career in seventh place on the Jayhawks’ all-time receiving yardage list, totaling 1,599 yards in four seasons.
