Connecticut back at No. 1

By Staff     Feb 19, 2008

Connecticut was a clear choice as No. 1.

The Huskies regained the top spot in the Associated Press women’s basketball poll Monday after receiving 38 of the 50 first-place votes. Connecticut had been No. 1 for seven straight weeks before falling to No. 2 last week.

Tennessee, meanwhile, lost its grip on No. 1 and fell to No. 3 following a home loss to LSU on Thursday.

North Carolina, with two first places votes, moved up to No. 2.
