Lincoln, Neb. ? Andrea Riley scored 24 points, and Shaunte Smith added 20, leading No. 17 Oklahoma State women over Nebraska, 92-81, on Sunday.
Coming off a 10-point victory over fifth-ranked Baylor, the Cowgirls took advantage of Nebraska’s dismal shooting beyond the arc and built up a 31-point lead in the second half. The Cornhuskers responded with a 17-0 run, but could not close the gap.
Nebraska (17-7, 6-4 Big 12) pulled to within nine points on Danielle Page’s layup with just over a minute left, but Oklahoma State made nine of 10 free throws the rest of the way.
In addition to Riley and Smith, Oklahoma State (19-3, 7-2) had four players score in double-figures. Taylor Hardeman scored 14 points, Maria Cordero had 12 and Danielle Green and Kristin Hernandez added 10 each.
Oklahoma State shot 48 percent from three-point range, an average brought down by Riley’s eight misses in 11 attempts.
