By J-W Staff Reports     Apr 21, 2008

Kansas University sophomore guard Sherron Collins underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery Monday, news announced by KU coach Bill Self.

The operation was performed on Collins’ left knee.

“Sherron had some knee problems this year and we knew it was going to require surgery after the season,” Self said. “He toughed it out and was a primary reason for our success this year.

“Doctors said the surgery went very well and anticipate no complications. Sherron should be starting rehab soon and doctors expect a full recovery. With the season recently ending, he has plenty of time to heal.”

Collins averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 assists for the Jayhawks this season while battling a multitude of lower body injuries.
