Washington, D.C. ? Georgetown University apparently has landed the No. 1 basketball recruit in the country.
Greg Monroe, a 6-foot-10 power forward/center from Cox High in Harvey, La., has orally committed to the Hoyas, Rivals.com reports. He recently had trimmed his list to UConn, Duke, Georgetown, LSU and Texas. He had Kansas on his preliminary list.
