? Freshman Rachel Morris and sophomore Monica Dolinsky scored first-half goals as Kansas University’s soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over Drake on Friday evening at Drake Stadium.

The Jayhawks improved to 2-8-2 overall, while the Bulldogs fell to 2-6-2.

Midway through the first half, Morris scored her second goal in two weeks when she buried a cross from Shannon McCabe in the 24th minute. McCabe made a move around her defender on the near sideline and sent a pass to the front of the box, where Morris redirected the ball with her foot.

Less than 10 minutes later, the Jayhawks struck again. This time, Dolinsky finished a Kim Boyer feed from eight yards out to give KU a 2-0 lead. Junior Jessica Bush started the play, sending a long pass into the box, where Boyer touched the ball to Dolinsky for the sophomore’s first goal of the season at 32:26.

Kansas held a slight 10-7 edge in shots. KU put six of its 10 shots on net and had one shot hit the post in the opening minutes.

KU will travel Sunday to Lubbock, Texas.
