Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands ? Takia Starks scored 17 points to lead Texas A&M to a 60-48 victory over Indiana on Saturday in the Paradise Jam.
Starks, 3-for-9 from 3-point range, scored 12 of her points in the second half when the Aggies pulled away by shooting 48 percent from the floor and outrebounding the Hoosiers 25-16.
Danielle Gant added 12 points and six rebounds for Texas A&M (4-1).
The Aggies, who lost to Wake Forest 53-46 on Friday, rallied after giving up a big early lead to an unranked opponent for the second time in a row.
Texas A&M went up 17-10 on a shot by A’Quonesia Franklin, but the Hoosiers took a 22-21 lead on Amber Jackson’s layup with 1:35 to play in the first half. The lead changed seven times in the period.
The Aggies, who led 25-22 at halftime, took control on an 8-0 run capped by Franklin’s layup that gave them a 42-32 lead with 10:40 remaining. The Hoosiers did not get closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Lubbock, Texas – Erin Myrick and Raquel Christian headed five players in double figures with 15 points apiece to lead Texas Tech in the Basketball Travelers Classic on Saturday.
Myrick had 12 points in the first half for Tech, which went on a 20-0 run after Alcorn State (0-3) scored the game’s first basket.
