Collins discusses professional future

Kansas University offensive tackle Anthony Collins, considered a potential NFL prospect, spoke for the first time about his possible future in the NFL.

Collins, a junior who’s nickname is “Mama’s Gotta Eat” because of his desire to make money playing professionally, was asked Wednesday if “Mama’s eating yet.”

“Not yet,” Collins said with a smile. “She’s going to eat pretty soon, though. I hope so. Next year, she’s eating.”

He then clarified himself.

“Don’t take that nowhere. I saw your eyes,” he said with a laugh. “She’s eating next year. After my senior year.”

Collins was then asked if he was sure he was going to play four years at Kansas.

“Yeah. I’ll be back,” he said.
