TALLAHASSEE, FLA. ? Kansas University’s Yuliana Svistun placed third in the Black singles bracket and Edina Horvath fifth in the Gold draw Sunday at the Florida State Invitational.
Svistun’s victory over Florida International’s Pazo gave the Ufa, Russia native her second-straight 10-win fall season.
After finishing 14-6 last fall, the junior closed out the 2007 fall schedule with a 10-4 record.
Horvath, who finished second on the team this fall with four singles victories, defeated Central Florida’s Serrot to claim the Gold bracket’s consolation crown.
In other matches, Kansas’ Maria Martinez fell to New Mexico’s Tessmar, 6-3, 6-1, and the Jayhawks’ Mymee Tokuda lost to FIU’s Vallasciani, 6-0, 6-4.
