Morningstar to redshirt

By Gary Bedore     Nov 2, 2007

Kansas University sophomore guard Brady Morningstar has decided to take a reshirt for the 2007-08 season.

Morningstar, a Free State High graduate, will practice but not play in games this year. He will have three years of eligibility remaining starting next season.

In 16 games as a freshman last season, Morningstar averaged 2.1 points and 0.9 rebounds per outing. He was the only Jayhawk other than injured junior guard Brandon Rush to not see the floor in Thursday’s 94-59 exhibition win over Pittsburg State.

“It was the right decision for me,” Morningstar said. “I look forward to working as hard as I can this year and be able to contribute on the court in the future.”
