KU cycling club second at league

? Kansas University’s cycling club picked up a handful of medals at the North Central Collegiate Cycling Conference championships over the weekend.

KU’s Jason Knight was third in the Div. I Men’s A road race, and Kathy Kalbac and Kristen High placed 3-4 in the women’s road race.

Kansas’ women’s team of High, Kalbac and Katy Midyett placed second in the women’s team time trial, and the KU men’s A team of Knight, Jeff Schroeder, David McLeod and John Giles was third in the team time trial.

Brandon Bundy won the Men’s B criterium. In the Men’s A criterium, Schroeder was fifth and Knight sixth.

Kalbac and High placed fourth and fifth in the women’s criterium.

Minnesota-Twin Cities won the regional team title, while KU was second.

Knight and High each placed third in overall conference points.

Next for KU is Collegiate Nationals, which run May 11-13 in Lawrence.
