Kansas University women’s basketball coach Bonnie Henrickson has received her second commitment for the 2007-08 season, and again the theme is height.
Nicollette Smith, a 6-foot-2 senior forward at Bishop Kelley High in Tulsa, Okla., will sign with the Jayhawks next month.
Smith picked KU over Missouri and Middle Tennessee State. She had also taken a visit to Kansas State.
As a four-year starter at Bishop Kelley, Smith scored 1,483 points in 105 games, good for a 14.1 ppg average. She
also averaged 6.1 rebounds a game for her prep career and hit 162 three-pointers over four seasons.
The four-time Metro Lakes Conference first-team performer and this year’s conference MVP was also a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
Smith joins Krysten Boogaard in Henrickson’s stable of recruits for next season.
Boogaard, a 6-foot-3 center from Regina, Saskatchewan, committed to KU in January.
