Update #8: Final, Baylor wins 71-54

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Henrickson pulled seniors Sharita Smith and Shaq Mosley with just under three minutes to go in the game. Mosley finished with a four-point play, giving her 16 points to finish off a stellar senior year. Smith finished with six points. Danielle McCray added 14 for KU, who finishes the season 11-20 overall and 4-12 in Big 12 play. After an 0-9 start to the conference season, KU won five of its final nine contests, including its first win at the Big 12 tournament since 2003.

Update #7: 7;11, second half, Baylor leads 60-40

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.– Player scored again for Baylor out of the timeout, ending a short KU run, and the Bears continued to add to it, thanks to a pair of Jessica Morrow jumpers. Sophomore Ivana Catic hit a short jumper for KU, as Shaq Mosley headed to the bench and put her warmup top back on, looking possibly done for the night.

With her tream trailing, Bonnie Henrickson decided to have some fun, which wound up resulting in a technical foul. After the ball was poked loose from Catic in the back court, Catic was called for a hold. After the call was made, Henrickson got the ref’s attention and mocked the call with her hands, drawing a technical foul. The free throws put Baylor up by 17 points.

Baylor’s lead bubbled big-time after the technical, with Danielle Wilson feasting inside on a tiring Jayhawk club. Danielle McCray hit a pair of free throws, and LaChelda Jacobs laid in a bucket in transition to help KU make one late push, with the game well in question. Sharita Smith then found success with another baseline jumper.

Update #6: 15:56, second half, Baylor leads 39-27

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Sharita Smith poured in the second half’s first points with a 17-foot baseline jumper, but Baylor went right back to what works – pounding KU inside. Rachel Allison scored again for the Bears, and it was followed up with a KU turnover.

Danielle McCray scored for the first time in the second half on a nice open-court dish from LaChelda Jacobs, pulling KU again within 16 after a Jhasmin Player jumper. Taylor McIntosh made it 14 after forcing a Baylor turnover.

Smith drove the baseline and scored her second bucket of the half, leading the game into a full break at the 15:56 mark.

Update #5: Halftime, Baylor leads 35-16

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Rachel Allison and Jhasmin Player each hit short, fading jumpers out of the timeout to give Baylor a commanding 32-15 lead with less than three minutes to go in the first half.

Taylor McIntosh was able to hit again on the baseline, and Baylor was called for three seconds just inside the two-minute mark. After the refs took a break in the action to discuss a call, McCray then connected for her fourth and fifth points of the game. But Baylor came back with a three, keeping its lead at a commanding 16 points.

Baylor took a 16-point lead into the half, with Mosby leading the Bears with 10 points. Mosley has 10 for KU.

Update #4: 3:38, first half, Baylor leads 28-15

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Shaq Mosley hit a pair of free throws out of the timeout to end a lengthy KU offensive dry spell, and it was followed by a travel call against Jhasmin Player, sending the ball back the Jayhawks’ way.

KU’s next turn with the ball resulted in a turnvoer though, after McCray had an inside shot swatted away and Mosley recovered it only to toss it where a teammate used to be.

Player scored in transition for Baylor, while Taylor McIntosh, who led KU with a career-high 19 points Tuesday night, then scored her first bucket of the game.

Mosley traded a free throw with Baylor’s Jessika Bradley, but Jhasmin Player again knifed through the lane to score easily off the glass, as Baylor looks far more rested than the Jayhawks, who played 24 hours ago.

Mosley continued to be KU’s most productive offensive piece, scoring two more inside, but Mosby worked herself quickly into double figures with a baseline jumper, keeping Baylor ahead by 10 points.

After Kelly Kohn had a shot wiped away in the lane, she couldn’t recover in time defensively, as Angela Tisdale swished a three for Baylor heading into another full break.

Update #3: 7:56, first half, Baylor leads 18-6

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – KU’s drought continued, as Mosley misfired a three and McCray was long on a putback. Danielle Wilson responded inside with a baby hook for Baylor.

Mosley took a ball deep near the Baylor basket just before another media timeout, but was fouled on her way up, having to leap over the Bears’ cheerleading squad to avoid a collision.

Update #2: 10:08, first half, Baylor leads 16-6

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Baylor’s size advantage began to take its toll on KU, as the Jayhawks’ shots weren’t falling. The Bears began getting second- and third-chance looks, which contributed to an 8-0 run, extending their lead to 14-6 just under nine minutes in.

Baylor made it a 10-0 run as Mosby scored yet again, putting the Bears up 16-6 going into the game’s second full break. KU is just 2-of-11 from the field.

Update #1: 14:31, first half, Baylor leads 8-6

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Both teams started the game by coming up emptyhanded on their first offensive posessions. Rachel Allison broke the scoreless tie a minute in for Baylor in the paint, but Shaq Mosley, who scored 18 points in Tuesday’s win over Oklahoma State, came back with a corner three to put KU ahead, 3-2.

Bernice Mosby put Baylor ahead by one as the Bears continued to use their size inside. She scored again just over four minutes in after Danielle McCray’s first three-pointer attempt of the night rattled out for KU. McCray came back, though, to hit her second try, tying the game, 6-6. Mosby scored once pore, putting Baylor up by a deuce.
