Mallory leaves KU staff for position at Louisville

Kansas University football assistant coach Mike Mallory is leaving Lawrence after just one year to take an assistant-coaching job at Louisville.

The hiring needs to clear some minor hurdles before it’s official, a Louisville spokesperson said Friday night. Mallory will coach the secondary at Louisville under new head coach Steve Kragthorpe.

Mallory joined coach Mark Mangino’s staff at KU one year ago, and was in charge of the linebackers. He coached at Illinois for five years prior to his short stint with the Jayhawks.
