Sacramento, Calif. ? Kansas University’s track and field team claimed four more All-Americans, and the men are 10th and women 19th after three days at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Alex Spanos Sports Complex.
Egor Agafonov placed fourth in the hammer finals, unleashing a throw of 229 feet, 2 inches. He was joined on the men’s side by Julius Jiles, who’s 110-meter hurdles time of 13.95 seconds placed eighth and made him an All-American as well.
On the women’s side, Abby Emsick placed fourth in the discus, throwing 178-6. She was joined by pole vaulter Kate Sultanova, who earned All-American honors by tying for fifth with a vault of 13-31â2.
Junior Crystal Manning qualified for the triple jump finals, and will be the only Jayhawk competing today. Ashley Brown was unable to qualify in the 400 hurdles.
