Former MU coach lands job

By Associated Press     Jun 7, 2007

? Former Duke player and Missouri coach Quin Snyder has been hired as head coach of the Austin Toros of the NBA Developmental League.

The minor-league team was expected to announce Snyder’s hiring this afternoon, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

The hire marks the end of a 16-month hiatus for Snyder, who resigned from Missouri in February 2006 under pressure from athletic director Mike Alden.

Snyder, 40, replaces Dennis Johnson, a former NBA star who coached the Toros until he died from a heart attack Feb. 22 after a team practice.
