KU jumps to No. 3 in both polls

After going 2-0 over the past week, and thanks to some help from the outside, KU jumped from No. 6 to a No. 3 ranking in both the Associated Press poll and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ poll Monday afternoon.

Ohio State, who defeated Wisconsin 49-48 on Sunday, is the unanimous No. 1 in both polls, followed by UCLA. Florida, who was ranked No. 3 a week ago, lost 66-56 at LSU Saturday, marking its second defeat in three games. North Carolina, who was No. 5, lost Sunday night, 89-87, at Maryland after letting go of a big second half lead.

Wisconsin is directly behind KU in fourth in the AP poll, followed by Florida, Memphis, Texas A&M, North Carolina, Georgetown and Nevada to round out the Top 10.

KU takes on Oklahoma (15-12) tonight in Norman at 8 p.m., and finishes the regular season Saturday with an 11 a.m. tip-off at home against No. 15 Texas.
