Mosley’s buzzer-beater lifts KU past Texas

Senior guard Shaquina Mosley’s memorable stretch run to the season continued Saturday night, this time producing a 50-49 win for the Kansas University women’s basketball team over Texas Saturday night in Austin.

Mosley had the ball late and had the ball swatted out of bounds, forcing officials to review the play on television monitors to see how much time should be remaining. The crew gave KU 0.4 seconds to get a shot off trailing by one. Ivana Catic came into the game, found Mosley under the hoop and she put it in for the win.

Freshman Kelly Kohn led KU with 17 points, while fellow frosh Danielle McCray had her first career double-double, with 15 points and 10 rebounds. For the Jayhawks, it was their second straight conference win after an 0-9 start in league play. KU (8-16 overall, 2-9 Big 12) will host Missouri Wednesday night at home.
