The Kansas University women’s basketball team got the revenge it wanted Sunday against Indiana, redeeming itself for last year’s loss in Assembly Hall by knocking out the Hoosiers 69-61 today in Allen Fieldhouse. The win gives the KU women four straight, improving Bonnie Henrickson’s squad to 7-1 on the year.
6-foot-5 freshman Krysten Boogaard led four Jayhawks in double figures, scoring 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Danielle McCray, coming off of a career night Thursday where she scored 29 in a win over Marquette, notched 12 points and also pulled down seven boards. McCray was also 5-of-6 from the free throw line late in the game, helping seal the win.
The Jayhawks now have the week off before taking on UC-Riverside next Sunday in Allen Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
