Baylor smothers MVSU with second-half burst

? Kevin Rogers had 26 points and 10 rebounds, with a pair of dunks in Baylor’s game-turning run, and the Bears beat Mississippi Valley State 82-50 on Monday night.

The Bears finally put the game out of reach with a 14-0 run over a 41â2-minute span early in the second half. Rogers’ dunks sandwiched a 3-pointer by Tweety Carter at the end of the spurt that put Baylor up 45-30 with 15:15 left.

The Delta Devils trailed by as many as 34.

Baylor, coming off a 67-64 loss to No. 8 Washington State in which it blew a 14-point lead in the second half, is 27-0 against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams. The Delta Devils lost 71-26 at Washington State last month.
