Costner eliminated at Women’s Amateur

Former Kansas University golfer Amanda Costner was eliminated in the first round of match play Wednesday at the U.S. Women’s Amateur golf championships.

Jenny Suh of Fairfax, Va., spilled Costner, the reigning Big 12 Conference champion, 7 and 5, at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Costner had qualified for match play by shooting a six-over-par 150 during the 36-hole medal play portion of the tournamennt.

Meghan Gockel, a KU sophomore missed the cut by four strokes.
