Former Kansas University basketball player Christian Moody and some Jayhawks past and present will attend the LEO Center Free Throw Challenge 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.
There will be various age-group divisions starting at 14 and under all the way up to 65 and over.
Competitors will shoot 25 free throws, with the top 10 finalists from each division in a tournament shoot-off to crown a winner. Entry fee is $20, with a prize pack of gifts worth $25 plus a T-shirt given to all entrants.
All proceeds benefit the LEO Center and Heartland Medical Clinic.
“We’ll have a great time,” said Moody, public relations development director for the LEO Center. “I think it’ll be fun for people not only to shoot some free throws, but have some pressure with a Jayhawk or former Jayhawk there as a judge. It’ll be fun to watch the leaderboard and see how everybody is doing.”
Video highlights of this year’s season will be shown. Information will be available explaining the mission of the LEO Center.
