Howard joins KU as associate AD

Kansas University athletics director Lew Perkins announced Monday that Chris Howard, an associate athletic director at Louisiana State University, has been named associate athletic director for alumni relations at KU.

Howard will work with the Williams Educational Fund to promote KU athletics and develop opportunities for athletics alumni of KU.

Howard has served at LSU since 2003. Prior to that, the St. Louis native was a member of the NCAA enforcement staff from 2001-03; he was employed by the law firm of Bond Schoeneck and King from 1998-2001.

Howard previously worked at KU from 1996-98, serving as a supervisor in student support services.

At LSU, Howard served as the liaison between LSU, the NCAA and SEC offices for rules interpretations and other matters.
