? Missouri University’s softball team is on a roll.

The Tigers have won seven straight games, including five against Big 12 Conference foes, going into tonight’s league contest against Kansas.

Game time will be 6 p.m. at University Field.

Missouri (29-17, 5-0 Big 12) is making hay with its bats. The Tigers boast a team batting average of .300 and are second in the league in runs scored. MU’s pitchers, however, have the Big 12’s worst earned-run average (3.89).

Kansas (27-14, 3-4) is coming off a doubleheader split at Texas. KU won the first game, 2-0, behind Kassie Humph-reys’ two-hitter, but the Longhorns used three unearned runs to capture the nightcap, 3-2.

KU’s pitching staff of Humphreys, Valerie George and Sarah Vertelka owns a glossy 1.88 ERA. George, who didn’t pitch in the UT series, is 9-3 with a 1.52 ERA.

Sophomore shortstop Stevie Crisosto continues to lead the Jayhawks in hitting with a .346 average, but she is the only regular batting over .300.

Kansas will be home this weekend against another potent league club in Texas A&M. Game times will be 2 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

Kansas and Missouri will tangle again a week from today at KU’s Arrocha Ballpark.
