Former Kansas University guard Michael Lee will play for the Kansas Cagerz of the United States Basketball League this spring in Salina.
The 6-foot-3 Lee, who graduated from KU in 2005, last winter competed for Entente Orleans, a pro team in France, and the Vancouver Volcanoes of the International Basketball League.
He was a member of the Harlem Globetrotters two seasons ago.
“Michael will be a great addition to the Cagerz’ roster,” said Carroll Long, general manager of the Salina-based pro team. “He is a tenacious defensive player, and his accurate shooting will be a boost.”
Portland, Ore., native Lee played in 118 games in four years at KU. He averaged 4.2 points a game off 38.2 percent three-point shooting and started nine games.
The Cagerz will open veterans camp April 13 and play their season opener April 19 in Gary, Ind. The Cagerz’s season will end in June.
